Preschool Room

(42 months – Reception)

At around 3.5 years, children will transition into our Preschool Room. All children receive individual settling-in sessions with their Key Person to help them feel confident, secure, and excited about their new environment.

In our Preschool Room, we provide a rich, inspiring environment where children are encouraged to become confident, capable, and independent learners. This room has a strong focus on school readiness, supporting children to develop the skills they need for their next stage while ensuring learning remains meaningful, engaging, and led by their interests.

Through open-ended experiences, loose parts play, and hands-on exploration, children are encouraged to think creatively, solve problems, make decisions, and develop resilience. We promote curiosity and independence by allowing children the freedom to investigate, experiment, and lead their own learning through play.

Communication, language, and early literacy are woven throughout the environment and daily experiences. Children are supported to express their ideas, build friendships, negotiate with others, and develop confidence in group situations. We encourage children to become independent in managing their own needs, taking responsibility for their belongings, and developing self-care skills in preparation for school.

Health and emotional well-being remain at the heart of our practice. We support children to understand and regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships, and embrace new challenges with confidence and perseverance.

By providing a stimulating curriculum, nurturing relationships, and opportunities for child-led discovery, we equip children with the confidence, independence, and love of learning needed to flourish both at school and beyond.

Our Preschool Room is a brand-new open-plan cabin, purpose-built in 2026. The space is bright, airy, and thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity and independence, while also offering cosy spaces where children can relax, regulate, and feel secure. The room is fully air-conditioned, features tall ceilings, and provides over 63.5 square metres of learning space, alongside its own separate undercover outdoor classroom area.
