Safeguarding

At Lake View Nursery, keeping children safe is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and supportive environment where every child feels secure and valued.

All of our staff are trained in safeguarding and understand their responsibility to protect children from harm. Staff know how to recognise signs that a child may be at risk and how to report any concerns. We follow clear safeguarding procedures in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and local safeguarding guidance.

Our safeguarding practice includes:

  • Enhanced DBS checks for all staff
  • Regular safeguarding training
  • Clear procedures for reporting concerns
  • Working with other professionals when needed to support children and families

We have Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) within the nursery who take responsibility for safeguarding and supporting staff with any concerns.

Please read our full safeguarding policies on the Policies and Procedures page under the About Us section.

Operation Encompass

Lake View Nursery is part of Operation Encompass, a national scheme that supports children who may have experienced domestic abuse.

Through this partnership, the police notify the nursery if a child attending our setting has been present at a domestic abuse incident. This information is shared with our safeguarding leads so we can offer additional care and support to the child during their time with us.
